Andrew McLaren is a London based menswear Fashion designer and illustrator from Scotland. Born in Ayr, Andrew studied at the prestigious Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2013.
During his studies, Andrew spent time in New York interning for Michael Kors where he indulged his interest in accessories, working alongside a small team designing new season bags and shoes, gaining invaluable industry direction and key insight into the workings of a globally successful business. He also interned for Christopher Raeburn in London where he shared his passion for vintage culture and gained further experience within outerwear construction and finishing techniques that have pervaded in his own work. In 2012, Andrew was presented with a Scottish Academy of Fashion Award for "Excellence in Tailoring" that nourished his obsession, enhancing structure development and attention to detailing.
With such a strong interest in garment construction and fabric combinations, he takes an experimental approach to creatively interplay between wearable textiles and silhouettes whilst maintaining a strong illustrative stylised aesthetic.
